The Microsoft Surface Phone is reportedly set for release in a couple of months, as per the latest reports surrounding the much-awaited smartphone flagship from Redmond.
As per the latest reports, Microsoft is preparing an event this October to lift the veil off the smartphone, which is deemed the most powerful handset from the company yet.
If this will be the case, the Microsoft Surface Phone will be released just after the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 hits the stores and after the Apple iPhone 7 releases presumably this September.
It remains to be seen if the timing of the release will play well for Microsoft as its biggest competition will release their flagships a month ahead of them.
However, in terms of specs and features, the Microsoft offering, if the reports about its makings are to be believed, certainly has what it takes to blow the competition out of the water.
As per the rumors, the Microsoft Surface Phone will come in three heavyweight versions. Its entry level will offer 4GB of RAM and 128GB storage.
Another version will reportedly come with 6GB RAM and a whopping 256GB storage space. The premium of the Surface Phone versions will boast 8GB RAM and 512GB storage.
All of these models should be made extra powerful with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor. The Microsoft Surface Phone will also boast a 5.7-inch 2K screen complete with what is being called "landscape screen support."
The flagship will reportedly sport a 20MP Carl Zeiss rear-facing camera with the specs to be packaged beautifully into aluminum and magnesium unibodies for premium and sleek feel.
It is important to note that October launch for the Microsoft Surface Phone is yet to be corroborated. The existence of the phone itself has not been completely confirmed by Microsoft as well.
However, Microsoft has already made it known its plans to bounce back in the smartphone scene with a Surface-branded handset.
