Miami Heat trade rumors 2016: is Rudy Gay the perfect fit for Heat?

Sacramento Kings have been visibly eager to trade Rudy Gay to other teams along with Ben McLemore and Kosta Koufos. Rudy Gay has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with his current position in the franchise. With both sides expressing mutual feelings to severe ties, a lot of teams have been speculated open for trading in exchange for Rudy Gay.

Despite the ongoing rumors, Sacramento Kings didn't seem too successful in closing a deal for Gay especially with the season nearing to start. A lot of factors made other teams reluctant to venture into a deal since Gay may simply leave a team after this season. But according to Miami Herald, Rudy Gay and Miami Heat are a perfect fit to each other.

With Dwyane Wade gone and with the uncertain situation of Chris Bosh playing for this season due to his health issues, Gay could be another addition for the roster. However, Miami doesn't look like having tradable players in exchange for Gay. His $14.2 million player option could also add for more hesitation since if they were to trade for Gay they would have to send a trade package to Sacramento Kings. The Heat also had players (Wayne Ellington and Tyler Johnson) signed this month in the offseason which means they cannot be traded until December 15. These would made Heat having limited options to trade with.

According to SB Nation, Heat would not possibly trade Chris Bosh, Goran Dragic, Tyler Johnson or Justise Winslow. It is also unlikely for Miami to trade their younger roster of players like Josh Richardson sacrificing their future line-up for just one veteran who will be possibly playing for just one season.

Additionally, CBS Sports reported that based on the contracts, the only deal that could be in line with both teams is if Heat traded Josh McRoberts, Udonis Haslem and Richardson for Gay. But contracts aside, team president Pat Riley isn't likely to let go of Haslem from the team and Richardson has been showing improvement and potential playing for Heat.

If all of these don't work out for Rudy Gay, he may choose to play it out with Sacramento Kings until summer of 2017 and go with Heat as a free agent.
