'Mass Effect Andromeda' release date, news: it may be 2017 before gamers get new details, preview

A look at the new protagonist in "Mass Effect: Andromeda" Bioware

Bioware has kept "Mass Effect Andromeda" details at a minimum, but promised that the next time they talk about the action role-playing third-person shooter, they will drop tons of information.

The game is now in a much playable state. "Mass Effect" producer Michael Gamble even tweeted that the progress of the development has gone far along that they play it regularly now.

"Now at the part of the project where I stop playing other games, and only play our game, every day for months. It's incredible," Gamble said of "Mass Effect Andromeda.

This is also what EA Studios executive vice president Patrick Soderlund revealed about the game in an interview with Game Informer.

"I played through the first three hours of the game. It's very playable," emphasizing that there's no reason for fans to panic about the status of "Mass Effect Andromeda" in the development room.

"It's strictly that the game will get the right type of exposure at the right time and that we can the right voice for it," he said, adding that fns will be treated with a preview of the game "in the not too distant future."

Bioware currently has its focus on the next slate of massive games set for release in the final quarter of the year. That being said, "Mass Effect Andromeda" might not be previewed until next year.

However, Soderland hinted a "Mass Effect" remaster launching down the line despite his previous statement that they should focus on new games.

"What's changed is that there is proof in the market that people want it, maybe more than there was when we spoke," Soderland said. He continued that they are "absolutely actively looking at it."

There are no concrete plans about is yet, let alone a release date, but fans can expect Bioware to release remastered versions of the "Mass Effect" trilogy.

As for the "Mass Effect Andromeda," the new title is set for release in March next year.
