Last seen together in Marvel's mini-series "The Defenders," it looks like Danny Rand a.k.a. the Iron Fist (Finn Jones) will make a reappearance in Luke Cage's (Mike Colter) life. Iron Fist is set to star in at least one episode of the second installment of "Marvel's Luke Cage."

Entertainment Weekly gave an exclusive first glimpse of the two heroes in a scene together, staring down each other in what looks like a serious confrontation. It remains to be seen whether Rand's appearance is an accident or intentional, or if he is there to stir up trouble for Cage.

Last time Rand and Cage were seen together, they were both joined by the other two members of "The Defenders" – Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) – as they painstakingly thwart The Hand's efforts in conquering New York and the rest of the world.

They were shown parting ways at the series finale, therefore Danny's appearance in season 2 of the popular Marvel series is curious indeed. Aside from the exclusive photo, other details about the Iron Fist's appearance in "Luke Cage" season 2 are scarce. The production team keeps a pretty tight lid on the whole thing.

It is worth noting that it was because of Danny's efforts that Misty Knight (Simone Missick) was able to save the situation of her losing an arm to Bakuto (Ramon Rodriguez) in "The Defenders" finale. Since she is confirmed to join Luke Cage in season 2, it is highly plausible that Danny's appearance in the show has something to do with her new condition. Is it to ask for thanks, perhaps?

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Misty Knight is set to make an appearance in the second season of ''Iron Fist" as well.

Although the second season of "Luke Cage" is definitely hitting Netflix in 2018, viewers may have to wait until late next year with the slew of other upcoming Marvel series lined up.
