Louis C.K.'s 'I Love You Daddy' leaked by pirates; film available on torrent sites as producers track down rogue copies

Comedian Louis C.K.'s movie "I Love You, Daddy" could have been out last November but due to allegations of sexual misconduct, the movie was pulled from release. However, the said movie was recently leaked by a piracy group and is now propagating on torrent sites.

The piracy group that leaked the movie is called Hive-CM8. They released the movie with a note saying "We decided to let this one title go out this month, since it never made it to the cinema, and nobody knows if it ever will go to retail at all." The movie was seen on torrent sites as early as last Monday.

This is not the first time that Hive-CM8 made news because of a highly-publicized leak. They were also responsible for the Christmas 2015 leak, wherein copies of blockbusters were spread via torrent even as the movies were still showing on cinemas.

Producers are reportedly working on tracking down and removing leaked copies of the film on the internet.

As for the film itself, Louis C.K.'s "I Love You, Daddy" tackles themes of sexual consent, and how men in power often abuse their privileges to exercise sexual abuse over women. Some rumors suggest that the film targets Hollywood celebrity Woody Allen.

"I Love You, Daddy" was considered for an Academy Award at the time, so some 12,000 DVDs were mailed to various Hollywood critics before its official release. It was suspected that Hive-CM8 got their copy of the film from this pool of "screener" DVDs.

Recent allegations of sexual misconduct against the comedian led to the film being pulled from release, especially since movie tackles sexual themes itself. Louis C.K.'s co-star Chloe Grace Moretz was especially upset with the result as critics said that her performance in the film was Oscar-worthy.

Despite the movie being released, there were reports that the comedian is planning to buy back the rights to distribute "I Love You, Daddy." Presumably, Louis C.K would try and sell the film himself on his own website, a practice that he did with his past show and comedy footage.
