2017 was a good year for the PlayStation 4 (PS4). With this, video game blog, VG247, headed by veteran Patrick Garratt, announced their top games for the console from various game developers.
VG247 has chosen their best games for the PS4. These include AAA games from the biggest games developers, and as well as indie games from minor developers.
Starting with the most recent release, "Assassin's Creed: Origins" was among VG247's best games of 2017. Released on Oct. 27, the game serves a prequel to all of the "Assassin's Creed" games. "Destiny 2" comes next to VG247's best PS4 games. Released on Sept. 6, the game is an online-only multiplayer first-person shooter (FPS)
Next up in VG247's list is EA's exhilarating action game "Battlefield 1." Released in October last year, the game is an FPS set during World War I. The game was praised by game critics for its theme, single-player campaign story, multiplayer modes, graphics, and sound design.
Both the action role-playing video games (RPG) "Bloodborne" and "Dark Souls 3" also made it into VG247's list of best PS4 games. The two games offer weapons-based combat, exploration, character customization, and extremely difficult boss fights which players love, surprisingly.
Blizzard Entertainment's "Diablo III" is also included to VG247's best PS4 games. Originally released in 2012 for PC, the game was released for the PS4 in August 2014, according to VGChartz.
The 2014 first-person stealth survival horror video game, "Alien: Isolation," also made it into VG247's best PS4 games. The game was developed by Creative Assembly and Published by Sega and follows the story of Amanda Ripley, daughter of the Ellen Ripley from the 1979 film "Alien" as she investigates the disappearance of her mother. "Alien: Isolation" was praised by critics due to the art direction, sound design, and artificial intelligence in the game. It is rated 9/10 by Steam.
