Ever since CBS's cancellation of the second season of the hit drama television series, "Limitless," fans of the show have been closely following the progress of the show's renewal efforts.

Since the cancellation, Bradley Cooper — who was the original actor of the film the show is based on — and other producers have been trying to approach different networks to continue the series and hopefully support it for an entire new season.

According to reports, there may still be a chance for the show to see its second season as different networks are most likely mulling over their decisions to adopt the cancelled series. CBS had originally decided to cancel the series after just one season despite the show's growing viewership and fans.

Those who were involved with the show then approached Netflix, but the network was apparently uncooperative and refused to pick the show up for a new season.

Now, reports have revealed that Cooper and the show's producers are not giving up just yet.

Cooper and the producers of "Limitless" have reportedly started to negotiate with FX and Amazon in an effort to get them to pick up the show for a second season. However, there is still no official reports that confirm if any of the two networks are on board for the project.

FX has also apparently expressed their concern with the show's theme since they do not want to look like a network that supports these types of drugs. The show itself is centered around a fictional nootropic drug called NZT-48, which boosts its user's mental capacity and essentially allows them access to the full power of their brains.

The series is based on the 2011 film of the same name which starred Cooper as the character Eddie Morra. The show takes place four years after the events of the movie and still features Cooper in a recurring role.

"Limitless" originally aired its 22-episode first season back in September 2015.
