LG has now burst into the big player's table, so to speak, with its latest flagship smartphone offering, the LG V20. The new flagship phablet (phone and tablet) from the South Korean tech manufacturer can certainly go against Samsung's Galaxy S7 and Apple's iPhone 7. Of course, it still remains to be seen if it can now fill the void in the Android smartphone market after Samsung's issues with the Galaxy Note 7's hazardous batteries.
As of the moment, the only common gripe that consumers have with the Android 7.0 Nougat-run LG V20 is that it still remains to have no fixed availability date. LG had revealed all of its specs and features just a week ago, but the company neglected to mention when they would be shipping the device to different parts of the world.
According to several reports, the company will most likely be rolling out the device around Sept. 23, but it may be possible for them to ship it early in order for them to take advantage of the Galaxy Note 7's recent recall.
As for the device itself, the V20 comes equipped with all the latest features that are standard in today's flagship smartphones. It strangely also has some almost extinct features that aren't really that common in smartphones nowadays. For one thing, the device comes with a removable back cover that reveals the device's removable battery. It also comes with expandable storage via a microSD slot that expands its internal storage capacity up to 256 GB.
Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with 4 GB of RAM. The V20 also comes with two displays, namely a 5.7-inch QHD display with a 2560x1440 resolution and a 2.1-inch display with a 160x1040 pixel resolution.
The smartphone comes with a USB Type-C port and a fingerprint reader placed on the back. Another highlight of the device is its ability to record professional grade audio thanks to its Quad DAC system, B& O play support, and full 24-bit 48kHZ audio recording capabilities.
