LG to launch new 5K ultra-wide 32-inch monitor at CES 2018

The public has more reason to look forward to the new year as several tech firms are slated to showcase their new hardware lineup this 2018. The Consumers Electronics Show (CES) is among the first few expos that will present the upcoming tech upgrades in the coming year, and among its participants is the South Korean tech giant LG. Prior to CES 2018, LG has already teased its 2018 monitor collection, which includes a powerful 5K ultra-wide screen.

As reported by Trusted Reviews, LG is about to unveil its new high-definition monitors, powered by the company's latest nano IPS technology. Leading the pack is the 32-inch LG monitor with model number 32UK950. It is 4K monitor that boasts improved color accuracy, along with HDR support that can handle brightness of up to 600 candela. Its screen panel can display 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color spectrum. Potential buyers are in for an immersive viewing experience with an almost non-existent screen borders. The monitor can support daisy-chained 4K displays, thansk to the Thunderbolt 3 port.

Perhaps the lightlight of the new LG monitors for the upcoming CES 2018 is the 34-inch ultra-wide monitor with stunning 5K display. The monitor, listed as 34WK95U, is said to have a massive display capable of handling multiple tasks, all within its 5120x2160 screen resolution. As mentioned, the ultra-wide 5K monitor also packs the nano IPS tech, which allows the resolution to stretch over the aspect ratio, resuting to a vertical pixel count consistent with the previous 4K panels from LG. Interestingly, the monitor's 5K feature is different from the LG-made iMac 5K displays, although it has the same sharp image effect spread out in one massive space.

For those who are not after 5K displays, they can pick the new 32-inch 4K display instead with 16:9 aspect ratio. The screen has high dynamic range (HDR) support, as evidenced by its HDR600 certification, which ensures high-quality performance at par with 5K monitors. Meanwhile, the 2018 LG monitor lineup also has something suited for video gaming, the 34GK950G. Aside from the usual nano IPS tech, the monitor includes support for Nvidia G-Sync technology.
