The second episode of "Lethal Weapon" season 2 triggered a lot of nostalgia for Roger (Damon Wayans) as a significant person from his past has made a reappearance.

The second episode of the series' second installment showed Capt. Avery (Kevin Rahm) in a worried discussion with Murtaugh and Riggs (Clayne Crawford) about a new deputy chief set to make some adjustments in their division.

"I thought we were cleared by IA," Murtaugh says to Avery in the episode. "Cleared meaning 'not arrested,'" Avery replies, insinuating that the new deputy chief's evaluation might mean his job dismissal, in which he pointed out as something he is not prepared for "emotionally and financially."

Murtaugh then asks, "So who's this new deputy chief guy?" just in time when Santos (Michelle Hurd) appears. "Hello Roger," she says to Murtaugh, and his face clearly shows that something happened between him and Santos.

Series creator Matt Miller already spoiled Hurd's appearance in the second installment of the series, as well as the background of the role she is set to play in the show. "What we find out when she comes in is that Murtaugh is immediately freaked out by her presence, because there was an incident many years ago," Miller explained in an interview.

"He explains to Riggs that they were on a stakeout late one night, they were in the car together, and 'Dancing in September' came on the radio. They both reached to turn the volume up, and their fingers hit and 'lingered,'" he added.

Meanwhile, the third episode of the series is titled "Born to Run," and will air on Oct. 10 next week. The series is slated for a full 22-episode order for the second season, even with the doubts of many stating that the show will never take off as successfully as the original film franchise.

The television ratings of the show are quite steady, with 4.4 million viewers and 52 percent additional viewers in the Live+3 Day airing of the second season premiere.

"Lethal Weapon" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
