Developer Square Enix may have confirmed the release date of Disney-themed RPG "Kingdom Hearts 3." Aside from that, there are talks that the game will be featuring Marvel characters.

In a Twitter post, Square Enix mentioned "Dragon Quest 11" and "Kingdom Hearts 3" while pointing fans to Destructoid's most-anticipated games of 2018 list. GameRant reports that highlighting the game on the tweet suggests that it will be released this year.

However, the website adds that this is not a confirmation that the game will be out in the next 12 months. Calling out "Kingdom Hearts 3" on the tweet could also be a way to correct Destructoid about the game's release date.

It has been 13 years since the last proper title of the game was released. Because of this long gap, players are anticipating the next "Kingdom Hearts." To recall, Square Enix announced during Sony's E3 press conference in 2013 that the game will probably release before the end of 2018. Fans bursted into screams and claps after hearing the announcement of the third game's release.

Since it is one of the most-anticipated games, there are many rumors and speculations about it. This includes the possible appearance of Marvel characters. Disney already owns Marvel, and this means that the giant company can already use their characters in whatever way it wants. Because of this, fans wonder if there will also be characters from Star Wars universe that will be part of the game.

According to Segment Next, the developers have not ruled out the possibility of adding more worlds in the game. This means that their doors are still open for a Marvel-themed world in "Kingdom Hearts 3." Apart from a new world, there could also be new mechanics for the players. There will also be Keyblade Transformations, multiple forms, and new super attacks.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" is an upcoming action role-playing video game that will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It is developed and published by Square Enix.
