The first trailer for "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" was recently released, getting fans excited for the upcoming movie's premiere in less than a year. Rumor has it that there is another reason to anticipate the sequel and it involves a very familiar character.
Since the release of "Jurassic World" in 2015, fans have wondered if anyone from the original "Jurassic Park" movies in the '90s would be coming back to reprise their roles. The characters, in particular, being Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) and of course, Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill).
Following confirmation that Malcolm would be joining "Fallen Kingdom" in some form or another, the excitement has seemingly escalated as recent reports suggest that Grant could make a cameo in the upcoming film.
According to Mr. Sunday Movies, Neill might have visited Pinewood's Shepperton Studios in London back in August. Interestingly, that is where director J.A. Bayona filmed "Fallen Kingdom." Neill reportedly came in a van with heavily tinted windows. He was seen sporting a beard as well.
It is worth noting that stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard wrapped up filming in July. With this in mind, as well as the fact that a film like this would require almost a year of post-production, it would not be too far-off if Neill made a cameo like Goldblum and just filmed in secret.
Meanwhile, just like the previous movie," Fallen Kingdom" will introduce new dinosaur species. In the trailer, there are four new dinosaur species: the Carnotaurus, Allosaurus, Baryonyx and Styracosaurus.
The Carnotaurus is the fan-favorite among these creatures, and this will be the first time this dinosaur will be featured in the movies. The supposed reason for the Carnotaurus having never been featured before was because Disney was already using them for their dinosaur ride at Animal Kingdom. The Carnotaurus was also featured in the "Dinosaur" film.
As for the Allosaurus, it is heavily speculated to be featured in "Jurassic World," but it was only referenced for promotional purposes. As it is thought to be one of the more aggressive dinosaurs in the area, fans can expect to see some action-packed scenes with this species. Next is the Baryonyx, known to be the biggest fish-eating dinosaur. It was included on the Jurassic Park map; however, it did not appear in the movies. The Baryonyx is actually a real dinosaur and a member of Spinosaurus family.
Lastly, the Styracosaurus, the cousin of the Triceratops, is also speculated to appear in "Fallen Kingdom." While this particular dinosaur was never referenced to nor featured in any of the movies, some eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot the species in the trailer.
"Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" premieres on June 22, 2018.
