Fans of the series "Jane the Virgin" can expect a lot more fun in the upcoming episodes after it was revealed that a guest star is about to arrive.

"Jane the Virgin" season 4 has been pretty much light-hearted for main characters Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and her son Mateo (Elias Janssen), and the show looks to build upon that in the coming episodes.

Eva Longoria, a former director of "Jane the Virgin," will be transitioning from the director's chair to the spotlight in the upcoming episodes for the series' fourth installment.

Fans can expect Longoria, a renowned Latina actress, to create a different but fulfilling punch to the storyline.

The return of the Latina director to the set of "Jane the Virgin" as an actress is probably due to her great rapport with the cast. Rodriguez, who plays as Jane, is one of the members of the crew that Longoria enjoys working with. This dates back to their time together in season 3, when Longoria was still a director.

"She's focused prepared, driven, funny, loving, generous and so smart," Longoria said in an interview with ET in October 2016.

It seems that this appearance is a dream come true for the show's main star too. Rodriguez mentioned in the October 2016 interview that she wished Longoria to be back "however she wants" in the show, be it as director or "whatever."

Sources from ET reports that Longoria will star as "herself" in the show. The Latina actress will use her actual name, and probably her own personality as a guest star in the series.

Also, ET mentions that her role will be closely connected to Jane's biological father, Rogelio de la Vega (Jaime Camil).

It is reported that Rogelio and Longoria will realize that they have a special connection after Rogelio sought out Longoria to be his co-star in the adaptation of the American series "The Passion of Santos."

Fans can expect to see a "fantastic, funny, engaging, smart, and beautiful" Eva Longoria character to debut on Friday, March 2 at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
