iPhone 7, 6 restarting issue news: Problems and complaints emerge

Users of iPhone 7 and 6 running iOS versions 11.1.2 and earlier posted claims that the said phones keep rebooting.

Many users of iPhone 7, 6 and even 8 and X have turned to Twitter since Dec. 2 to express their concern over their phones crashing and restarting. Their reports claim that this forced reboot happens every 60 seconds.

According to the International Business Times, this is a result of a bug that has been triggered on the said devices at exactly 12:15 a.m. on Dec. 2. The restarting issue is said to have been caused by time-based local notifications that triggers a phone soft reboot when the phone receives them. This error renders the phone very unusable, and therefore makes the iPhone users very unpleased. Since users cannot set nor edit these type of notifications, it cannot be fixed by troubleshooting or a simple workaround.

Fortunately, Apple has released an iOS update to address the issue specifically. This update, iOS 11.2, can be downloaded on the user's phone and would ultimately solve this rebooting issue. The user can access this through the Settings app, then by opening the General tab and selecting the Software Update option. A download for iOS 11.2 should be indicated on screen. After the user has downloaded and installed the software, the rebooting problem should be taken care of. If it doesn't still work, IBT advises the users that a little tweaking in the form of resetting the date of the iPhone to Dec. 1 could help solve this problem.

Apple has since released the iOS 11.2 update fix. Hopefully, this can solve most existing reboot problems of their users. Users whose phones have not been fixed by this method are advised to report the problem to the nearest Apple stores.
