Huawei has been making some very decent products in the past few years, with some of its smartphones even rivaling that of offerings made by manufacturers such as Apple and Samsung. However, the company has been mostly sticking to smartphone products and has not really offered anything significant when it comes to other gadgets.

Now, the company is set to dive head first into uncharted territory as it unveils its first ever smartwatch — the Honor Watch S1 — and its new follow up tablet, the Honor Pad 2.

At first glance, both products seem to be built with quality and durability in mind. The Honor Pad 2 is the follow up device to Huawei's first mid-range tablet offering, the Honor Pad. The brand new tablet contains some very interesting hardware, but is probably not enough to give its competitors a scare.

The tablet sports an 8-inch display that has a 1920x1200 pixel resolution. Powering the device will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor paired with 3 GB of RAM. The combination should be sufficient to run the latest apps and is quite capable in terms of performance.

The tablet also contains a decent camera setup, with a mediocre 8-megapixel shooter at the back. The Honor Pad 2 comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box which will be skinned with the company's own EMUI skin.

As for the Honor Watch S1, the device will be company's first ever fully-fledged smartwatch product. The company did release another wearable a few months back, but the Honor Band Zero was really more of a fitness wearable as opposed to being a true smartwatch. The new Watch S1 comes with full smartwatch and fitness functionality including a dedicated heart rate monitor, connectivity options, and a new software.

The Honor Watch S1 and the Honor Pad 2 are scheduled to be launched in China on Tuesday,  Oct. 25. The new smartwatch is expected to retail at $105, while the tablet is going to be sold at $150 for the base 16 GB model and $225 for the 32 GB LTE model.
