The HTC 10 will be officially revealed on April 12, but the official announcement hasn't stopped leaksters from posting additional information about the highly anticipated smartphone. Images were leaked recently, plus a very impressive AnTutu benchmark score that leaves the competition behind -- that is, if they are the real deal.

The official announcement came via HTC's Twitter account a few days ago. It says, "we admit it, we're obsessed... but in a good way. " It also added "Visit htc.com on Tuesday, April 12 to see why."

When the rumors started out on the HTC 10, it was being referred to as the HTC One M10, and eventually, the former name was used. Additionally, rendered images surfaced, including alleged specs. Even after the Taiwan-based company made the official announcement, leaked images are still making their way online, the latest, as GSMArena reported, was posted on a Chinese website and is an ad for the outer shell of the unseen phone . The post states that there are two available shells, in black and gray, and is around US$30. The image on the listing is also an identical match with the physical attributes of a previous leaked image.

In related news, PhoneArena reported that an anonymous tipster from Taiwan shared an image depicting an AnTuTu Benchmark result. Based on the image, the alleged HTC 10 scored 156,091 and is the highest on the list. The other phones were the Xiaomi Mi5 with 136875; the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with 134,599; the iPhone 6s with 133,781; and the Huawei Mate8 with 91,157. The report says that the benchmark scores look legitimate.

The HTC 10 is rumored to be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage, expandable. It is believed to have a 5.1-inch AMOLED Quad HD display, 12MP UltraPixel main camera and a fingerprint reader on the home button. Plus, it packs a 3,000 mAh battery.

In a series of Twitter posts, HTC taunts its fans by giving bits of details about the upcoming flagship phone, including its booming audio and world-class front and back cameras.

It is also rumored to go on sale on April 15 in HTC's home front, Taiwan.

The HTC 10 is scheduled to be shown on April 12 at 8 a.m. in New York City.
