ABC's Thank God It's Thursday or TGIT lineup is now on a hiatus as its midseason finale aired on Thursday, Nov. 16. However, the network already announced its number 1 shows' return, including "Grey's Anatomy" season 14 episode 9.

Episode 8, titled "Out of Nowhere," featured a major twist and turn of events that ended in a major cliffhanger. A computer hacker successfully took the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital's system down that greatly affected the doctors and how they were going to treat their patients.

Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Alex (Justin Chambers) were also seen saving a young kid, who was on the verge of life and death. However, the child's future remained unknown with the coming of an unexpected visitor.

Jo's former abusive husband Paul (Matthew Morrison) returns in "Grey's Anatomy" season 14 episode 9. As the surgical resident of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital filed for divorce, she is about to face her greatest fear by meeting her ex again.

To recall, Alex tried to find Paul in the ABC drama's 13th season. Although he wanted to break his face, all he managed to do was to talk to him. Jo, on the other hand, confessed things about his husband to Ben (Jason Winston George). She also asked Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) to remove her name from the medical paper, so Paul would not find her.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Luddington talked about her character's future and Paul's return in "Grey's Anatomy" season 14 episode 9. "There are some incredible episodes coming up," she said.

Fans will see Morrison playing a role very different from his true self. In fact, Luddington even described it to be "interesting and fascinating." "I can't wait for viewers to see the work that he's doing," she added.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 14 episode 9 will return on Jan. 18, Thursday, on ABC.
