Before the show's scheduled hiatus this year, popular American TV series "Great News" is set to air back-to-back episodes on Dec 21.

"Great News" is currently in its second season, already showing six episodes since its premiere on Sept. 28. Episodes 7 and 8 will be shown back-to-back on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 8:30 p.m. EST.

In episode 7 titled "A Christmas Carol Wendelson," everyone is experiencing much headache to be around Carol (Andrea Martin) as Katie's mother is personally taking Christmas Carol to the extreme.

While all of that is happening, Katie (Briga Heelan) will try to take a dive at reuniting family members when Chuck's (John Michael Higgins) estranged son Petey (guest star Will Sass) decides to visit his father's office. Katie is appointed to be Petey's babysitter during his visit. Will she be able to successfully reunite the distant relationship between father and son?

Meanwhile in episode 8 titled "Sensitivity Training," everyone is required to participate in a kind of sensitivity training seminar, but Chuck and Carol think they are already way past that and hence decide to teach the "snowflakes in the office" some valuable lessons their way.

Katie's new boyfriend, New York Times reporter Jeremy (guest star Reid Scott) is also in town, and Katie is bubbling with the romantic take her current life has turned out. However, her colleague Portia (Nicole Richie) is sensing that Katie might not be just the only girl in Jeremy's life. Is Portia right that Katie is just a sidepiece for Jeremy?

Katie first met Jeremy in season 2 episode 4, but only developed feelings for the former on episode 6, when he invited her to do some "real reporting." They ended up kissing, which shockingly infuriated Greg. Fans of the show have long been shipping the Kate and Greg love team, but since both of them are now in separate relationships, is the possibility of them coming together now over?

After the break, "Great News" will return Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 at 9:30 p.m. EST on NBC.
