Google Play Store discounts games up to 80 percent in '12 Days of Play,' with free Google Play Music subscription for four months

Google Play Store is getting into the Christmas spirit with "12 Days of Play." This recent promo offers discounts on the Android platform's apps, games, books, music, movies, and more.

"12 Days of Play" starts on Dec. 22 2017 and lasts for 12 days, ending on Jan. 2, 2018. On this period, any movie of three episodes of any show available on the Play Store can be rented for $0.99.

Titles include recent popular films like "Kingsman: The Golden Circle," Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk," and the DC favorite "Wonder Woman." Holiday classics such as "Home Alone" and Disney's" A Christmas Carol" are available, as well.

Meanwhile, discounted series episodes include HBO's "Game of Thrones," "South Park," and "The Walking Dead."

Gamers will also be able to enjoy up to 80 percent discount on the prices of selected games on the platform. Games like "Final Fantasy Tactics," "Minecraft Story Mode Season 2," "Need for Speed Most Wanted," "FRAMED 2," "The Room Three," "The Game of Life, " and "Sonic Jump Pro."

Those who enjoy "freemium" games will also find discounts on various game microtransactions. There are new gem and resource offers for "Clash of Clans," as well as a "Santa Spell" for the strategy game. New content, including a featured a gingerbread hat, is available for "Roblox."

There will also be discounted seasonal packs in "Pokemon GO" and the game will feature a special Christmas Pikachu. There will also be discounts on "Candy Crush" in-game purchases.

Those who prefer to spend the holidays reading books get discounts, too. Books and novels available on Google Play will have up to 75% discount. The promo also offers $5 credit for any book purchased that costs more than $5.

Google Play Music is also offering four months of subscription to the service, all free.

All that is required to avail of the above offers is a Google account, and a device running Android.
