At the recent PlayStation Experience 2017, director Cory Barlog talked about what fans can expect from the upcoming "God of War." Although he has not revealed the game's official release date just yet, he said that players would definitely enjoy its gameplay time.

It has been said that the new installment in the game franchise would be a lot different from its predecessors. From the usual nine to 11 hours of gameplay, gamers can now enjoy up to 25 to 35 hours of Kratos adventure.

Website HowLongtoBeat has enumerated the entire "God of War" franchise's completion hours. The site also figures the average time of how long it should take to beat one title.

The site notes that the new "God of War" will possibly be longer than the combined first three installments of the series with 31 hours of playtime. If Barlog's claim is correct, evidently, fans are going to experience an extensive time of gameplay.

The 2005 "God of War" takes nine hours to finish, while its sequel takes 12 hours. The third game has 10 hours of gameplay, while "Chains of Olympus" and "Ghost of Sparta" take five and a half and six and a half hours, respectively. Lastly, "Ascension" will take eight and a half hours to end.

However, Barlog's claim is still unclear if he is pertaining to the time it takes to play "God of War's" story alone or this also includes playing the additional content. As this game is going to introduce Kratos' son, Atreus, there would definitely be a lot of side areas to explore. In fact, this can be seen in the game's latest trailer revealed at the PSX 2017.

Meanwhile, Barlog also said at PSX 2017 that "God of War" team has lessened Atreus' chatter in the game. He explained that the boy has been talking too much in the trailer revealed at the recent Paris Games Week.

However, the game producer remains mum about the game's release date. Although a leak has revealed that the title will be out on March 22, 2018, this date is said to be unofficial.

"God of War" is expected to be out in 2018, exclusively for PlayStation 4.
