"Ghost of Tsushima" creative director Nate Fox, art director Jason Connell, associate producer Ryuhei Katami, and animation director Billy Harper were all present at the recent PSX 2017 panel, revealing some sneak peeks on the development process behind the first trailer (which was released on October during the Paris Games Week), as well as the inspiration behind the game itself.

When asked why developer Sucker Punch decided to make a new title rather than just expand on the inFamous franchise, Fox said they want to try something new. "You do something for a long time, you want to try something different. It's creatively satisfying to be freaked out," he said.

"This was definitely a risk, but one that was so worth taking because we get to write a love letter to one of our favorite genres," added Harper.

According to the team, the hardest part of developing the trailer is finding the perfect voice for each character. Aside from that, they especially made sure to depict the town of Tsushima perfectly, as well as the history involved the game's plot.

For that, Katami shared that they also have a team in Japan who are tasked with making sure they are perfectly representing the Japanese culture.

Fox and his team were very careful to not spill any spoilers pertaining gameplay, disappointing some of the audience in the PSX. However, the possibility of the game to be depicted in Japanese dialogue is high, as when Fox asked whether the audience will enjoy playing the game in Japanese, they cheered and clapped, to which Fox said, "Noted."

"Ghost of Tsushima" is poised to be an open-world action game where players, according to the trailer, must assume the role of the one of the last surviving samurai and defeat the Mongol Empire who threatens to invade the island of Tsushima. The story will take place during the feudal period of Japan.

There is no official release date yet for "Ghost of Tsushima," but apparently, the game would be an exclusive title to PS4.
