General Hospital spoilers: Jan. 8-12, 2018

Jason and Sam finally have that talk in "General Hospital" Twitter/GeneralHospital

Sam (Kelly Monaco) may have rebuffed Carly's (Laura Wright) attempts at getting her best friend Jason (Steve Burton) back together with her, saying that she has completely gotten over her ex and that his twin brother Drew (Steve Burton) is now her present and future.

Their plans at building a life together, however, were cut short when Sam discovers that she is still legally married to Jason. She confronts him about it and asks for a divorce to which Jason, although hurt, tries to hide his pain and reluctantly agrees.

Jason loves Sam and is willing to do anything for her happiness, even if means losing her forever. But even if Sam gets the freedom that she wants, that doesn't mean that she won't be hurting on the inside because the divorce also means that she will be eliminating all traces of the bond she once had with Jason.

And even if the wedding takes place, it would only make matters worse as Sam's rekindled feelings for Jason are growing, and it is only going to make her marriage to Drew meaningless.

Rumors that Peter August (Wes Ramsay) and Nathan West are stepbrothers may be confirmed in the coming days. The two are sons of Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) from two different mothers. Peter's mother is WSB agent Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), and Nathan's mother is Dr. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati). August's arrival may indicate that this information may soon come to light.

This also brings the possibility that Peter may be the traitor to Faison. The "General Hospital" writing team's fascination with genetics makes this a possibility, as his mother already has a track record for betrayls which is rivalled only by her twin sister and Peter's aunt, Alexandria.

Spoilers suggest that the revelation of Peter's parentage will have a profound effect on everyone, especially to both Peter and Nathan, including their mothers.
