Less than a month after the release of the highly popular third-person shooter video game "Gears of War 4," the game's developer — The Coalition — has now announced the release dates for its first set of downloadable content (DLC) multiplayer maps for Season Pass holders and for those who own a copy of the game.

The first DLC expansion pack will reportedly contain two "Legacy Maps" that have been redesigned from the multiplayer maps found in the game's predecessor, "Gears of War 3."

The developer had recently made an announcement about the new DLC, revealing that Season Pass holders will be getting it earlier on the first of November. Other players will then be getting access to it a week later on Nov. 8. The two "Legacy Maps" that are included in the DLC expansion pack are called "Drydock" and "Checkout."

"Drydock" is a remastered map that was originally introduced in "Gears of War 3." It is set on a destroyed ship graveyard where players can take advantage of the wrecked ships for cover and ambushes. The map features large cargo container buildings and massive destroyed vessels.

The other map — "Checkout" — is set in Cole's hometown approximately 25 years after the events of the previous game. Ever since the Imulsion Countermeasure weapons were used to destroy all Imulsions on the planet, the city has now been reclaimed by nature. The map itself is set in the city's supermarket, where players will be battling through store shelves, checkout lanes, and a large mall atrium.

The Coalition has been quite busy polishing up their game for the upcoming DLCs and has actually released several updates over the past few weeks. The last update that was released for the game included several balance adjustments and a significantly more stringent penalty for player who suddenly quit matches.

"Gears of War 4" was released on Oct. 11 for Microsoft Windows and for the Xbox One console.
