'Game of Thrones' season 8 spoilers: Tyrion could possibly lose his tongue

Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) has been known for his intelligence and eloquence, making his speech his great weapon. However, it looks like he is about to lose his best armor as a new theory suggests that he might have his tongue cut in "Game of Thrones" season 8.

In a YouTube video by Alt Shift X, he laid all the possible signs that the imp is going to lose his speech. However, the theorist claims that it could possibly happen either in George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" novel series or in the HBO's final installment.

In "Game of Thrones" season 8, Cersei (Lena Headey) might be the first one to come to mind on who would want Tyrion's tongue cut. But, it could also possibly be Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk). He is known for cutting his people's tongue, called the Silence, which can be seen when he attacked Yara's (Gemma Whelan) fleet in the previous season. In fact, his brother Balon (Patrick Malahide) talked about his habit before he was thrown off the bridge.

On the other hand, it could also happen in "A Song of Ice and Fire" series from a storyline that has been removed on the show. Here, Tyrion will be suspecting Varys (Conleth Hill) trying to place a bastard Targaryen prince on the Iron Throne. This accusation could potentially get his tongue cut.

It is a usual sight in "Game of Thrones" to see characters' tongues removed. To recall, the Mad King has removed Ser Ilyn Payne's (Wilko Johnson) speech, while King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) also cut a singer's, Marillion, tongue because of an insulting song. Varys is even said to cut the tongues of his "little birds."

In "A Song of Ice and Fire," Bronn (Jerome Flynn) and Prince Oberyn (Pedro Pascal) even warned Tyrion that he could get his tongue cut. As Cersei already lost her beauty, which is her weapon, when the High Sparrow cut her hair and forced her to do the walk of shame, and Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) lost his hand, Tyrion, this time, could lose his best armor.

"Game of Thrones" season 8 is expected to air in 2019 on HBO.
