Rumor has it that a huge pregnancy twist is slated for season 8 of the global hit series "Game of Thrones."

The rumor mill was triggered by a blind item from TV Line, which said a "wildly popular, Emmy-winning series on a premium cable network" is plotting a surprising pregnancy twist when it premieres its next season in 2019.

Fans were quick to note that all descriptions fit "Game of Thrones," which is unbelievably popular worldwide, has won a number of awards, including Emmys, and is shown on the premium HBO channel.

The events of the series' previous season soon pointed to Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), who was seen making love with Jon Snow (Kit Harington) in the season 7 finale. The two having a baby would not exactly be a shocker, but it should have some damning consequences for the next season.

After all, it was revealed that Jon is, apparently, Aegon Targaryen, the legitimate heir to the throne and Daenerys' nephew. This means what they did last season was incestuous, but then again, that is nothing new to the Targaryens, who are known for marrying their relatives, so as to ensure that the crown stays within their family.

However, there are a few clues that negate the possibility that the mother of dragons is pregnant. TV Line added that the unlikely pregnancy will be both "dramatic and darkly comedic."

The outlet did, however, note that the news will have fans questioning who the father of the baby is. If it is indeed Daenerys, it is possible that she hooked up with someone else between the time the previous season ended, and season 8 began.

There is also still the possibility that the preganancy twist would indeed happen on "Game of Thrones, but on a different character.

Whatever the truth behind the rumors is, fans will have to wait a bit to find out. "Game of Thrones" season 8, as well as the series in TV Line's blind item, will not return to the small screens until 2018.
