Fujifilm has introduced the FinePix XP130, a new compact point-and-shoot camera designed for rugged adventures.

As the newest addition to Fujifilm's tough camera series, the FinePix XP130 is suitable for most outdoor activities. It features IP68 certification which allows it to be waterproof for up to 65 feet, shockproof from drops of up to 5.8 feet, freezeproof in temperatures as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit, and dustproof from sand and other particles.

The camera is light at just 207 grams. There is also a grip on the front of the camera and a thumb rest on the back that allows for one-hand operation. The buttons have been positioned so that they can be accessed even if the user is wearing thick skiing gloves. The compact and rugged camera will come in five colors: White, Dark Silver, Yellow, Sky Blue and Lime.

In terms of technical specifications, the FinePix XP130 features a 16.4-megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor and Fujinon 5x optical zoom with 28 mm wide-angle lens. It has an ISO range of 100 to 6,400.

Fujifilm's newest camera is capable of capturing a variety of scenes ranging from expansive landscapes to close-up action shots. With optical image stabilization, images remain sharp even when shooting in low-light conditions. The FinePix XP130 has continuous shooting of up to 10 frames per second (fps) and is capable of recording Full HD video.

At the back of the camera, there is a 3-inch 920K-dot LCD display for reviewing captured images and choosing different shooting settings. The FinePix XP130 has Electronic Level for capturing horizontal subjects, Eye Detection for faster portraits and Cinemagraph mode for recording GIFs.

With Bluetooth connectivity, users can also easily share images to social media websites or quickly transfer files to smartphones or tablets via the "Fujifilm Camera Remote" app.

The Fujifilm FinePix XP130 will be available to purchase in February for $229.95.
