Square Enix has finally released the patch update 1.19 for "Final Fantasy XV." The developer has added "character swap" to the game for a more enjoyable experience.

Before the update, players were only limited to using Noctis in the game. With update 1.19, players can now switch between Ignis, Prompto, and Gladiolus.

However, players still have to unlock "character swap" ability on the "Ascension Grid" first. Watch the gameplay below.

In addition to various bug fixes, update 1.19 for "Final Fantasy XV" also comes withnew music pieces from "Comrades" multiplayer expansion, as well as music for the downloadable content (DLC) expansion "Episode Ignis" which was launched on Wednesday, Dec. 13.

"Final Fantasy XV's" "Episode Ignis" DLC will be the last character expansion for the game this year. The DLC will focus on the character Ignis and will offer a lot more combat compared to previous DLCs.

Update 1.19 for "Final Fantasy XV" will be quite heavy, requiring PS4 owners to download 14 GB worth of patch data. Xbox One players will be required to download 18 GB patch data, reports Destructoid.

The site also reports that the team behind "Final Fantasy XV" will be adding more DLCs for 2018. Square Enix is now working on the PC and mobile version of the game, and plans on making one for the Nintendo Switch.

Previous DLC of "Final Fantasy XV" include "Episode Gladiolus" and focuses on the character Gladiolus where he recounts the time of his encounter with legendary warrior "Gilgamesh." The "Episode Prompto" DLC, on the other hand, focuses on Prompto and his journey through the frozen wastes.

"Final Fantasy XV" is still available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One retailing for $40.
