While it comes as great news for fans that "Fargo" has been renewed for season 3, they can't help but lament about the fact that the new season won't arrive until spring of 2017. There will be a lot of work and time to be put in it for the big changes coming to the show as well.

"There is no time to shoot another year before this winter is over," showrunner Noah Hawley told Variety as he explained while the third season of the comedy drama. He also emphasized that the show won't be simultaneously written and filmed. This scheme allowed him to pinpoint the possible premiere of the series.

"It's also very important to me and the other producers that we separate the writing from production. We take our time and break the whole story, write eight of the 10 hours at least and we end up knowing exactly what we're doing and exactly what the whole story is," he explained.

The showrunner seems to be very keen in following this process they have. For him, "it's a question of quality" and not how good he is to perform two completely different processes simultaneously.

Hawley said that writing for "Fargo" season 3 is in progress. The screenplay won't be completed in a few months. He estimates that production won't officially begin until November of next year. The showrunner is very glad that he and his team are able to take time perfecting everything.

"Fargo" season 3 will be "contemporary" and it will apparently be set in a whole new background with a new set of characters. From 2006, the show is jumping all the way to 2010 when it premieres.

The unique part about this season is that the previous season's leads won't have much to do in the new season although some of them will get to stumble upon the new characters at some point in the series.

Hawley plans to connect everyone's respective stories into one giant picture. That being said, "Fargo" season 3 will feature a twist, which, basing on how Hawley describes it, will be shocking and game-changing.
