With Sony and Bethesda finally settling their previous squabble over the mod support for the previously released open world action adventure video game, "Fallout 4," fans are now waiting in anticipation for the companies to finally release the game's patch which will herald its arrival for the PlayStation 4 console. As it stands, both companies have yet to pinpoint a final release date, but mod support for the game's PlayStation 4 version is expected to arrive within the month.

Bethesda has of course already updated the PlayStation 4 version's creation kit in order for it to support mods within the game. The big difference with mod support for Sony's console however is that Sony has apparently placed a lot of restrictions when it comes to using outside or third-party assets. Bethesda most likely had to agree to these terms in order to finally roll out support for the PlayStation version.

The upcoming release of the PlayStation 4 mod support for "Fallout 4" has gone through several negotiations between both companies. Bethesda has even officially cancelled mod support for Sony's console back in September. Fortunately, after several negotiations, Bethesda once again announced that mod support was indeed coming out for the PlayStation 4 console.

Sony, on the other hand, has granted players a limited amount of storage to play around with modding the game. The PlayStation 4 mod for "Fallout 4" only allocates 1 GB of space, so players should choose their mods carefully and decide which ones are worth keeping.

Despite the lack of access to third party assets, players have now accumulated a total of 124 new mods for the game. That number is slowly increasing as players continue to create new mods before Patch 4.1.8 rolls out. The patch itself will officially add mod support for the game's PlayStation 4 version and players only need to update their game to enjoy the mods on their console. Additionally, the patch will reportedly also contain several bug fixes and enhancements for PC gamers.
