'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' update: 'Hero Colosseum,' Bandai Namco's way to make players stay with 'Dragon Ball FighterZ' threat

Bandai Namco recently released a new gameplay video for "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" titled "Hero Colosseum." Before game enthusiasts leave the game and move to the upcomin "Dragon Ball FighterZ, the sequel to the fighting role-playing title revealed it still has a lot to offer.

This fall, the arcade game company added a free update for the video game developed by Dimps. This content is said to be a "game within the game" that has its own story mode, reports reveal. Here, players can enjoy playing tactical figurine battles.

The gamers have to do strategic decisions in "Hero Colosseum." This new "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" content has a theme of a game-board kind of style play arena that is quite different from the regular fighters. Thus, it is expected to make its users stick to the game in spite of the threat of "Dragon Ball FighterZ" coming.

Bandai Namco also released a video of the new update to make players get familiarized with its gameplay. Although it looks a little strange at first, it seems the company is trying to lure the new and old players not to leave the game. In fact, it is hinting the title still has a lot of fight to offer that the gamers can enjoy.

Giving just a little rundown, "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" allows players to relive the "Dragon Ball" story with the help of the time traveling. Also, they have the ability to change some historic moments in the "Dragon Ball" universe here. Its next-generation visuals also give its gamers a real-life experience of the title's anime version.

There are also new characters and boss fights users can definitely enjoy. Players can also play with other 300 gamers online with its brand-new hub city, which is seven times bigger than its predecessor. Lastly, it has in-depth character creation system and battle adjustments that gamers can use to customize their own.

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" is now available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. "Dragon Ball FighterZ" is set to be released on Jan. 26, 2018.
