With "Devious Maids" yet to be renewed for season 5, fans are hoping the show will live for another season, and if cast member Dana Ramirez's statement is anything to go by, they might just get their wish.

The actress, who plays the role of Rosie in the comedy drama, comforted a fan on Twitter about the possible cancellation. "Something for you soon I hope!" the actress wrote.

This renewed the confidence of fans that "Devious Maids" season 5 will happen although it also implied that like fans, Ramirez is also waiting for the good news to come.

There are fears that Lifetime will pull the plug on the show following its decline in ratings and viewership. This was evident in comparing the third and the fourth season.

The former started with 1.47 million viewers and by the end of the season, 1.53 million viewers were tuned in. When the previous season premiered last June, only 1.08 million came back to see the action and only 0.86 million stayed up to the end.

Showrunner Brian Tanen and executive producer Sabrina Wind are "optimistic" to see "Devious Maids" season 5 happen. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, they teased what they have in mind for the new season.

"We had a blast this season shuffling the deck, watching characters play with people they've never played with before, and we're looking forward to a new season, hopefully, where we get to bring them back home and explore new avenues," Wind said.

She added that "we've been given very positive feedback from Lifetime, so we have every reason to be optimistic." Of course, "Devious Maids" season 5 not happening means they will never know who kidnapped Marisol (Ana Ortiz).

Tanen knows that if the show is cancelled, "fans would be really upset" not knowing that "surprising, final moment." He added that "we are proceeding as though season five is coming."

That being said, it looks like they will do everything in their power to make "Devious Maids" season 5 a reality.
