Players of the highly popular online first-person shooter video game "Destiny" who have already maxed out their Light levels will have more reasons to rejoice as Bungie has now officially announced the increase of the game's current Light level cap.

The change will apparently be taking place with the release of Patch 2.4.1, which will also contain the game's new "Wrath of the Machine" Heroic Mode, that is set to be released today, Oct. 18.

The new "Wrath of the Machine" Heroic Mode's release will be heralding the increase of the current 390 Light level cap to 400. Bungie also revealed that majority of the reward sources will also be increasing their maximum Light values to coincide with the new Light cap. "Nightfall," "Exotic Engrams," "Strike Hoards," "Trials of Osiris," "Crucible," and "Iron Banner" will now be providing rewards that will have Light values of up to 400.

Other rewards sources such as "Archon's Forge," "Legendary Engrams," and Heroic "SIVA Strike" will now have rewards with up to 385 Light levels.

As for the "Wrath of the Machine" Heroic Mode, players who want to make their first run right away will likely have to prepare a bit first as there is quite a high recommended Light level requirement. Players who do not yet meet the required Light level can still go through the other raids to further increase their current Light level with the advantage of those raids now providing higher Light level rewards.

The brand new patch will also reportedly be changing the frequency of reward drops with a majority of the raids now awarding packages at a higher rate.

Aside from the increase Light level cap and the increased reward drop frequency, the game's mechanics of infusing to increase a player's Light levels still remains unchanged. Light levels are still computed through the weighted average of the Light values from a player's ghost shell, armor, weapons, and equipped artifacts.
