In the midst of the wait for the highly anticipated Rise of Iron downloadable content or DLC, a concept art believed to be from the sequel "Destiny 2" was leaked.

An artist by the name Aziz Dosmetov, who worked with developer Bungie for the first "Destiny" expansion pack The Taken King, shared a bunch of alleged "Destiny 2" artworks on the designer-centric website Behance.

According to GameSpot, the artworks, which Dosmetov claimed was from "Destiny 2," were from a trailer of some sort presumably prepared as a preview of the sequel.

It featured weapons like swords, spears and shields, which, if they are indeed from the game, hint at a major departure in theme seeing that such selection of weapons was not featured in the game.

Some of the images also featured a character that resembled a Guardian, which hinted that the artworks may be from "Destiny 2" after all.

That being said, the inclusion of such medieval objects implies that the "Destiny" sequel might be very different from the original.

However, there's no way of knowing for sure if the images are authentic, but Activision appears to have stepped in and removed Dosmetov's Behance profile before it could get more unwarranted attention and speculations.

Activision wants the focus on the upcoming "Destiny" DLC. Rise of Iron will be featured at Gamescom 2016 in Cologne, Germany from Aug. 18 to 21.

"We have less than two months before the borders of the Plaguelands open to you. Before that incursion begins, there is much more to say about your next adventure," Bungie wrote.

"Our next Rise of Iron stream will come to you live from Germany. We'll crack open the new Crucible and show you what's inside," the developer promised.

A Twitch livestream will take place as early as Aug. 16. On the same day up to Aug. 23, Bungie will celebrate the Gamescom presentation with a new Iron Banner event, where all sorts of armor and weapons will be up for grabs.

As for "Destiny 2," if the artworks were extracted from a trailer Bungie prepared for Gamescom, fans won't have to wait long to find out.
