"Descendants of the Sun", a globally-popular and critically acclaimed Korean TV series is due to air a sequel. However, main characters Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, are not expected to return for a potential second installment of the show.

Since neither of the actors has committed themselves to new shows, this has sparked several reports claiming that both stars are set to reprise their roles in "Descendants of the Sun 2."

However, Song Joong Ki said in a recent interview that he and wife-to-be Song Hye Kyo are set to enjoy some time off for a while this year. Thus, insinuating that both actors are not going to star in any series or movies after their wedding.

"I'll spend the free personal time as fully as possible. I've always searched for my next project after finishing one," the actor said. "That's why this year I want to rest a bit and spend time as the 30-year-old Song Joong Ki."

Meanwhile, both actors are set to join their families in their upcoming nuptials on Oct. 31. News of their engagement has shocked their fans as they have both denied previous allegations of the two of them dating.

Some rumors tout that the quick engagement was because of Song Hye Kyo's pregnancy, but so far both camps have not confirmed any news of that sort. The rumors further sparked when a recent photo of them in Paris showed Kyo with an apparent baby bump, evident in her outfit of choice of a white top, long loose grey coat, and black ankle boots.

The two are set to hold their wedding at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul City in South Korea. The venue is an expected choice as it has already held tons of celebrity weddings before.

The couple has yet to comment on the outstanding rumors about them both, and both their agencies are not keen on giving out explicit details about their relationship. Still, they have not closed the prospect of them reprising their roles in "Descendants of the Sun 2," something their fans are wishing for fervently.
