Stephen Lang has once again spoken about the much-talked-about casting in "Deadpool 2" as the titular character's frenemy Cable in the midst of reports about the role going to Kyle Chandler.

There is a lot of buzz surrounding the casting, but Lang has already said before that despite fan demand, he may not get the part due to his commitment to the "Avatar" movie series.

Speaking to Mashable, Lang revealed that he has not been approached yet for the sought after "Deadpool 2" role, but he still appreciates the support of fans.

"I was a fan of the first Deadpool and I'd be delighted to be a part of that sequel, but I haven't spoken to anyone about it. It kept cropping up on the internet that I should play Cable," the actor said.

Lang expressed his interest to be in "Deadpool 2" to breathe life to the comic book character in a tweet that said "Let's lay some Cable," which the actor sent while he was in the gym.

The "Don't Breathe" star knows that being in "Avatar 2" and the three other movies in the franchise might not allow him to play the character. Both franchises are under 20th Century Fox and are in the same studio.

"It's the same studio as Avatar, but I don't know if that makes it easier or more difficult logistically. Either way, no one has approached me, and I can't even say if I'm in the actual conversation. But they must be aware of it, because whoever makes those decisions must be aware of everything," Lang said.

"Plus, I think I'd do a pretty bang-up job with the part. Having said that, understand that my obligation is to the largest, most successful film ever made, so Avatar takes precedence," he went on to say.

At the moment, it looks like the chances of Lang being part of "Deadpool 2" are low. Director Tim Miller is reportedly eyeing Chandler to play the role, something that many fans immediately opposed.

There were also reports that Liam Neeson is also being considered by the studio, a choice that Miller reportedly opposes. At the moment, nothing is official yet though.

The filming for "Deadpool 2" will begin next year with the film set for release in early 2018.
