A lot of fans were excited when games developer Capcom announced that they were going to release a brand new installment in the highly popular open-world zombie beat 'em up franchise, "Dead Rising." The brand new game — titled "Dead Rising 4" — will apparently be going back to the roots of what made the franchise such as hit. The nostalgia is further increased by the return of the game's main character, Frank West. However, fans were surprised to know that the voice actor who had given life to West in the previous installments was apparently replaced.

The game was originally announced during this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo event, where fans also got their first glimpse of the game. The new sequel will also contain the same wacky formula as its predecessor, with the exception of the game's timer system.

Despite all the previously good things that were added to the upcoming game, fans were surprised to hear that West's character will no longer be played by his original voice actor, TJ Rotolo.

Fans were then quick to wonder about what had instigated the change and if the voice actor had done something wrong. Fortunately, Capcom was quick to give an explanation about their decision explaining that they actually had to "evolve" West's character.

"We wanted to work with someone to provide a more grizzled, older take on Frank at this stage. It's no disrespect to history or previous actors--TJ has done a bang-up job," The game's asset manager, Trant Lee-Amies, had explained on a Q&A thread at the developer's official website.

The explanation does make a lot of sense as the game itself will be taking place 16 years after the events of the original game. However, some fans believe that Rotolo's voice actually gave the character its personality and that the sequel would probably not be the same without him.

"Dead Rising 4" is scheduled to be released on Dec. 6 and will be available on the Xbox One and on Microsoft Windows.
