A new pack of downloadable contents (DLCs) has come out for the asymmetrical multiplayer game "Dead by Daylight" and, following the footsteps of Leatherface, Michael Myers, and Freddy Kreuger, this expansion adds yet another infamous film franchise to the game's roster of killers — "Saw."
Just like the expansions that came before it, this new DLC, simply called "The Saw Chapter," adds a new killer, survivor, and map, all of which revolve around the famous film franchise.
Now, as anyone who has seen the films will know, Jigsaw, the main antagonist of "Saw," is not really the type of killer that goes around getting his hands dirty himself. Instead, the new killer is an enigmatic figure simply known as The Pig and serves as a loyal disciple of Jigsaw.
The Pig's special weapon is the reverse bear trap, possibly the most well-known death tool of the franchise. The reverse bear trap can be placed on any dying survivor and serves as a trial for them to overcome. Just like the films, these traps have a timer on them that, once it runs out, will immediately clamp down and kill the survivor.
Unlike the movies, the traps will also trigger should the survivor somehow make it to an escape point, which means anyone adorning the ferocious face wear will have to remove them before having a chance to leave. Removing the reverse bear trap will require survivors to scavenge the map for Jigsaw Boxes which contain keys that they can use to unlock it.
In addition to The Pig, players will also have access to new survivor David Tapp, one of the protagonists of the first "Saw" film. Tapp comes with three new perks: Tenacity, Detective's Hunch, and Stake Out. With these perks, it will be easier and faster for Tapp to find objectives, interact with them, and even heal.
Topping off the DLC is a new map that should be familiar to any fan of the films — the Gideon Meat Plant. This area served as one of the main locations for the third and fourth "Saw" films and now, players will be able to re-experience the fear of survival in the very same place.
"The Saw Chapter" is available for purchase now. It even launched with a new cinematic trailer showcasing all the new features as well as just how brutal the reverse bear trap can be.
