Blizzard will be bringing back the "Diablo 3" anniversary event in January 2018.

According to Game Informer, the "Darkening of Tristram" anniversary event for "Diablo 3" will be returning on the New Year, and it will let players experience the classic dungeon mode from the original "Diablo" game released in 1996.

Once again, the "Darkening of Tristram" anniversary event sets players on a hunt for the Cultists causing chaos in Sanctuary. The game's "Adventure Mode" will lead players into a portal that opens up Tristram's dark past that took hold of the town many years ago.

The "Darkening of Tristram" anniversary event lets players explore the nostalgic Cathedral which holds familiar monsters and demons from the original "Diablo" game, as well as various iconic items. Also, the Dark Lord is waiting below the deep catacombs of the Cathedral for brave challengers. Activities of the "Darkening of Tristram" anniversary event will also reward players with shiny new loot, including transmogrification effects, achievements, portraits, and more.

Also, the secret cow level of the "Darkening of Tristram" event can also be initiated. It will let players unlock their own pet cow. According to Hardcore Gamer, the pet cow can be unlocked by gathering the Rotten Mushroom dropped on level nine of the dungeon. Gamers shall then take the first right into the curved detour in the town of Tristram, enter an old shack, and craft the "Witch's Brew."

The "Witch's Brew" shall then be used to revive "Farnham," which can be found inside the scorched buildings in the town's center. Farnham will give the player the "Drunkard's Debt" item. The gamer should then take the "Drunkard's Debt" to Ogden in exchange for "Garda's Letter." Once the letter is delivered to Pepin, he will give the player a "Healer's Prescription" to unlock a schematic for a child's wooden leg.

The schematics should then be given to the blacksmith outside of Tristram in exchange for "Wirt's Leg." Dismantling the leg will give players the "Map of the Stars." The map should then be taken to Tristram, where players can look for the cows to the right of the witch's shack and revive them following the map's description.

A secret level can then be accessed to claim the chest that holds the "Royal Calf." Opening the chest will add the calf to the player's existing pets.
