'Dark Souls Remastered' rumors: FromSoftware to collaborate with Polish company on game's development

"Dark Souls Remastered" will give fans an enhanced demonic open-world experience from the award-winning franchise. Bandai Namco Entertainment America

"Dark Souls Remastered," the action-role playing gaming made by FromSoftware, is rumored to be ported in XBOX One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch by Polish video game developer, QLOC.

The game will be the fifth video game installment of the "Souls" series by the Japanese video game developer.

While the 2011 "Dark Souls" game was originally developed for PC and third-generation consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and XBOX One, "Dark Souls Remastered" will be porting the game to the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo's latest home console, for the first time.

Being a franchise that has been repeatedly nominated for Game of the Year awards,, the remastered version is expected to surpass its predecessors. This is the case even for the new port in the Nintendo Switch

To aid FromSoftware in porting the game, reports say they are in collaboration with QLOC.

The real reputation of QLOC is its credibility in porting game titles of all sorts. The company is responsible for porting title series such as "Street Fighter," "God Eater," "Devil May Cry," and "Resident Evil."

"The PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of Dark Souls Remaster are, to some major degree, being worked on by QLOC. FromSoft may be doing some work, but certainly not all of it," Laura Dale, from Kotaku UK, said in her official Twitter account.

This gives fans a lot to be excited about, especially since the trend for QLOC's success mostly centers on suspense and action games, two genres that "Dark Souls" has been known to excel at.

While the PS4 and XBOX One ports are expected to go smoothly, QLOC's real challenge probably lies with the Nintendo Switch.

When compared to PC, PS4 and XBOX One, the handheld-home console hybrid does not have a powerful hardware that can easily run a remastered, fourth-generation game.

Still, Switch owners have a lot to be positive about. Fourth generation games such as "NBA 2K18" and "Doom 3" were ported successfully to the console. Another game, namely "Wolfenstein 2," is also slated to be in the Switch this 2018.

While not much is known yet about the added features to the game, fans can expect drastically improved visuals on the game's open-world adventure that's littered with demons and monsters.
