Council of Churches Malaysia Acknowledges Response to Flood Victims

|PIC1|The Council of Churches of Malaysia (CCM) has acknowledged feedback from its members in its recent nationwide appeal to aid those in the flood-affected areas in Malaysia.

CCM acknowledged several of its members in responding towards the Relief Funds to help those in the flood-affected area. CCM also stated that it was aware of its members' effort in sharing the burden of the victims and praised the efforts made towards them.

The Tamil and Chinese Methodist church congregations in the flood-affected area in Johor had been collecting household and kitchen utensils to distribute to families.

The council also will continue to encourage the local churches to pray for the affected families and the aid workers; so that rehabilitation will be effective and the affected communities can lead a normal life again.

The Executive Committee of the Council of Churches of Malaysia had earlier called upon the local churches to give financial aid for the humanitarian relief and restoration of damaged buildings. All the donations will be channelled to the CCM Relief Fund.

Hundred of thousands of Malaysian were left devastated by the recent waves of floods that have struck many states in Malaysia, including Johor, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan and east Malaysia.
