Hit anime franchise "Code Geass" will be getting a ton of material planned for later this month and next year. Besides the franchise getting two new manga, there will also be two new series spinoffs. There will also be two more feature-length films scheduled for release next year.
The first of the two new manga will be a light comedy titled "Katei Kyoshi no Lelouch-san," which roughly translates to "Lelouch the Home Tutor." As can be inferred from the title, it will feature protagonist Lelouch being the home tutor of the Geass-imparting C.C. This manga will be authored by Urushidama and will be released on Dec. 22.
The other manga does not have a title yet, but it promises to be the "definitive edition" of the original "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion." Tomofumi Ogasawara will work on the illustrations on this one, an artist also known for his work on "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Endless Waltz: Glory of the Losers." The manga will be released sometime in 2018.
The first chapter of a spinoff manga called "Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch Gaiden - Shiro no Kishi, Kurenai no Yasha" ("Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion - Lancelot & Guren") is scheduled to be released on Dec. 22. The prologue of this manga spinoff was released late last month, and its story will focus on Lelouch's best friend Suzaku and one of Zero's best soldiers, Kallen.
Another spinoff manga called "Code Geass Danshō - Mosaic no Kakera" ("Code Geass Story Fragment - Piece of the Mosaic") will focus on story fragments concerning six characters. The fragments will tell how these characters were profoundly affected by the events of the main series.
There were also plans of remaking the original anime series into a film trilogy. The first one, "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – The Awakening Path" was released last October.
The second film in the trilogy, "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – The Rebellion Path" will be released on Feb. 10. The third and final film called "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – The Imperial Path" will be released in May 2018.
