Christian Financial Advisors hold "Called to Purpose Conference"

The Inaugural Conference of the Advisors with Purpose(TM) network will be held in Toronto, Ontario from 15 - 17 May 2005. Advisors with Purpose network is the network of Christian financial professionals - such as financial planners, accountants, mortgage brokers, money managers, stock brokers, insurance agents, and estate lawyers. It aims to train and equip Christian financial advisors to carry out the biblical principals in their lifes, ministries and practices.

Even though the Bible deals with how to handle money and possessions only a handful of Christian professionals have learnt how to apply these principles into their lives.

However, within two years after the course was completed, the participants' were recorded as having their personal debt decrease by an average of 38%, savings and investments increased by 58.4% and total charitable giving increased by 46.5%, accodring to statistics shows. So Advisors with Purpose(TM) and the Called to Purpose Conference are playing the role of the bridge, connecting modern financial practices and biblical financial principles.

Rick Harper, VP Development and Member Services, said "As Christian financial advisors we believe it is our duty to give not only sound advice to our clients, but advice that is grounded in biblical principles. We feel a responsibility to take leadership in this area and to make a real difference in the lives of our clients, churches and communities."

Speakers that will lecture during the conference are Dr. Kenneth Boa, President of Reflections Ministries and President of Trinity House Publishers. His recent publications include Conformed to His Image, 20 Compelling Evidences that God Exists, Augustine to Freud and Faith Has Its Reasons.

Among other lecturers are Tim Cestnick, best known for his column Tax Matters in The Globe and Mail; J David Rae, former President of Apple Canada Inc and current President of Crown Financial Ministries; Dr. Don Page, Senior Fellow and Professor Emeritus at Trinity Western University; Gerry Organ, former CFL football player and current Executive Director of CBMC; and David Sweet, VP of Development for the Work Research Foundation.
