Having appeared in five Marvel movies, many fans have since looked forward to a "Black Widow" standalone movie. With many of her fellow Avengers already with their own movies, is it high time for the Russian spy to finally have one for her own? Stan Lee definitely seems to agree with this idea.

During the Supernova Comic Convention held in Brisbane, Australia, last weekend, Lee was asked if he would like to see Black Widow appear in a standalone movie. He then replied in the affirmative adding that one day there will be a "Black Widow" movie. Thus, many speculate that the film will be included in the lineup for Marvel's phase 4 plans.

On Johansson's part, she had previously expressed her interest in starring as Black Widow in a standalone movie. She told Collider in an interview that she believes there is room for a "Black Widow" movie given the character's rich origin story.

Meanwhile, "Thor Ragnarock" Director Taika Waititi also gave out his sentiments with regards to the idea saying he would like to see a humorous take on Black Widow's story. He added that a funny take on the Russian spy's sullen and dark past would be interesting. Given the character's history and her complicated emotional makeup, there is definitely room for a solo outing.

Earlier this year, the superhero film based on DC Comics' character of the same name "Wonder Woman" garnered box office numbers. This proves that female superhero films do well in theaters when done right.

By the time "Avengers 4" finishes, Johansson will have played Black Widow seven times already, so there are chances she might not want to take the job after all that, as per MovieWeb.

Marvel's phase 4 will run from 2019 to 2028. The big question now is, would fans like to see a "Black Widow" standalone movie released within the phase 4 time frame?
