Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was announced almost two years ago. The movie, primarily meant to be a Man of Steel sequel, was rewritten into a Justice League introduction movie. It was set to be released mid-July of this year, but with the delays in the film's production, the release was rescheduled to March 25, 2016 and is set to be shown in 3D.

The studio, known cast members and the production company have yet to disclose many needed details, aside from the trailer that was uploaded last April 17, regarding much-awaited clash of superheroes. However, in a licensing exhibit in Las Vegas, earlier this week, Warner Bros released the official synopsis for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It reads, "Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day saviour, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before."

Details that pertain to who or what the "new threat" will be are yet to be released. However, a major villain for the movie has already been named. According to IMBD's cast and crew list for the movie, Jesse Eisenberg will play as Lex Luthor. Another villain, if there is another one, is yet to be named. The same page also revealed that The Flash, a.k.a Barry Allen, will portrayed by Ezra Miller. Ray Fischer was also cast and set to play the role of Victor Stone, Cyborg. The casting of the two Justice League members adds to the list of already known ones; Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. The appearance of other members of the league such as Green Lantern and Hawkgirl are yet to be announced.
