The Audi Q5 was recently launched in India, revealing all of its details about the crossover's specs, price tag, and design.

German car manufacturer Audi has given the Q5, which is their second-gen CUV, a new twist by taking a page from another German car manufacturer, Volkswagen.

Particularly, the new Audi Q5 is inspired by the MLB-Evo platform of Volkswagen. Porsche Macan (Cajun), Audi A5, and the Audi A7 are examples using this platform.

One of the features that potential buyers can immediately see from the Audi is that it is bigger than its predecessors. The Q5 has increased size in all dimensions, but it was able to actually shed its weight in the process.

Besides a bigger yet lighter car, Audi proudly presented its enhanced engine in its launch in India. Those looking to buy an Audi Q5 can expect a two-liter engine with an automatic transmission, further mated to a seven-speed clutch.

The SUV is fast and powerful as well, as it can produce a power output of 190 PS. At the same time, it can reach 400 nautical meters at its peak torque.

Signature innovations by Audi are also retained in the new Q5. Thanks to the Audi Quattro Drive, all four wheels receive evenly distributed power for a more efficient drive.

The 12.3-inch "Virtual Cockpit" component is also making a return. The usual five drive modes are also present in the vehicle. Particularly, the Comfort, Automatic, Dynamic, Off-road, and Individual.

Those interested in the Audi Q5 are also given two options. The first one is the standard Q5, which comes at a showroom price of 5.35 million rupees (estimated at $84,000 USD).

The second option, which is a premium one that has trimmed-specs, is priced at 5.76 million rupees.

Some features coming from the premium version include an advanced keyless start with hands-free tailgate release, heated front seats, and traffic assist.

This second-gen crossover by Audi is expected to go toe-to-toe with the likes of BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC in India.
