Fans are anticipating the return of Japanese animated television series "Attack on Titan" in 2018. Aside from more screen time for Captain Levi and other characters, the next season may also give light on the story of Reiner Braun.

In season 2, it was revealed that Reiner is the Armored Titan that angered Eren. Reiner wanted Eren to help them with their mission. Since Eren did not agree, Reiner and Berthold kidnapped him. However, the Scouts could not lose Eren and they made sure to bring him back. During these times, Eren was enraged because he could not believe that the man he looked up to is actually a human killer.

Eren was seen reflecting on the moments he spent with Reiner. He even cried thinking that Reiner fooled him and the rest of the Scouts. Spoilers reveal that Eren will try to dig deeper into Reiner so he can discover his real intentions.

While talking to Eren, Reiner will get angry saying that everything Eren believes in is wrong. Reiner will admit that the death of Marcel was his fault. Aside from that, he will also divulge that he was the one who forced Annie and Berthold to proceed with the mission.

Reiner said that he just want to become a hero and be looked up to as an elder brother. He also wanted to be respected by someone. Because of everything he went through, Reiner will become suicidal. He will even beg Eren to kill him.

In another news, reports reveal that series creator Hajime Isayama has a picture of Reiner on his wall. The sketch features Reiner putting a rifle to his mouth. This shows that Reiner has been having suicidal thoughts for a long time because he is caught between being a Scout and a titan. He also feels guilty about the death of Marcel.

In the manga, Reiner did not continue killing himself after he heard Falco. Falco is the boy who tried to save someone from inheriting the power of being a titan. The thought about Falco will make Reiner realize that he should not commit suicide.

"Attack on Titan" season 3 is set to return in July 2018.
