The highly-anticipated new chapter of the "Attack on Titan" manga packs a shocking revelation for readers of the popular series by Hajime Isayama, one that could change the course of the saga.

It was revealed in "Attack on Titan" chapter 85 that Erwin, who has perished following the battle against Colossal Titan and the Armored Titan, was right about humanity all along.

All this time, the people inside the walls were made to believe that mankind has been wiped out. In "Attack on Titan" chapter 85, Eren, Mikasa, Levi and Hange learn that this is not the case at all.

The group found a proof of this in one of the three journals stashed by Eren's father Grisha in the basement of the home of Yeager Family, a spot in the house that Eren was always prohibited from accessing.

Tucked in the first journal they opened is a photograph of Grisha with a woman and a child. The group found information that there are humans outside the walls and that these people have been living a refined life as well.

Erwin might be right all along. In "Attack on Titan" chapter 85, Nile reminisced about how his now-fallen friend strongly believed when they were children that there are humans outside the walls.

He was under the impression that the Royal Government only tricked people inside the walls into believing there are no living humans beyond the fence. Nile now believes that Erwin could be right.

Meanwhile, "Attack on Titan" chapter 85 will also see Armin learn about what happened — that he ate Bertolt, was chosen to take the Titan serum and is now expected to contribute more to the team.

He is given the task to use his newly acquired Titan-shifting abilities to help the Survey Corps and to prove that it was the right decision to save him rather than Erwin.

Hange will take the place of Erwin as commander, but Armin is expected to put in more effort since his second chance at life cost Erwin to lose his.
