In an interview panel of the Television Critics Association press tour, series creator Mitch Hurtwiz announced that fans can expect the long- awaited next installment of "Arrested Development".

After premiering on Fox for three seasons from 2003 to 2006, the show was revived for a fourth installment on Netflix in 2013. That is a seven year gap, and fans were speculating if there will ever be a season 5 for the sitcom. Every year following 2013 became a possibility for release but the cast's individual hectic schedules prevent any planning from happening.

Hurtwiz stated in the interview that it was very close to develop. "We're very close. It's a thing I really am desperate to do. We've got a lot of the stories broken. We're kinda ready to go. I'm so appreciative of the fans wanting more, I hate to tease them with information that there is going to be more until we know for sure, but it's what we're trying to accomplish and if does happen it looks like shooting would be at the start of 2017. That's what I'm hoping," he said.

In an article by Cinema Blend, Hurtwiz revealed that season 5 will delve around the concept of a serialized murder mystery concerning the Bluth family. In the last scene of the last episode of season 4 Buster was incriminated for murder of Lucille Austero so season 5 might pick up from that development.

The shows biggest hindrance was to gather everyone together for a more complete-cast scenes. In an interview by Huffington Post, Tony Hale said "It was really tough to pull everybody together for the fourth season. I know Hurwitz has said that he wants to have a lot more ensemble scenes where everybody is together. That's a goal of theirs." It seemed like the problem continue to show for the fifth season.

Hale said in an interview of EW at Comic Con, "It's a lot of scheduling. A lot of people are doing different stuff and it's nine people to get together."

The ever busy schedules of the actors and actresses dragged the possibility of the next installment to reality but coming from Hurtwiz himself, viewers can expect season 5 without further broken promises.
