Apple Watch Series 3 problems: New update fixes flaw in LTE connection

The Apple Watch Series 3 Apple/Watch

Series 3 of the Apple Watch has been out for a while now, and many people have noticed one big flaw of the newest smartwatch. Fortunately, Apple recently released an update that served as a solution to the buggy LTE connection that many have criticized the watch for having.

Apple released the WatchOS update 4.0.1 that fixed the issues that happen in rare cases that resulted in the Apple Watch joining captive Wi-Fi networks. Such networks are those found in public places like in coffee shops and hotels that end up directing the user to a webpage before they can connect to the network. With no way of seeing the webpage to confirm, the watches were not only able to connect to the network, but it also prevented them from connecting to the LTE.

As the update detailed, this left users of the smartwatch with an unreliable connection, along with many other issues that they have found upon using the device. Many other users and reviewers have also noted the faulty LTE connection and Apple responded immediately. The device would frequently disconnect from LTE and end up connecting to the kind of networks that were previously mentioned.

Apple then acknowledged that there was a software problem that was behind the connection issues, but then said that only a small number of people experienced the problem. Fortunately, they did say that they would fix the problem as soon as possible, which resulted in the update that was recently released.

Whether the update really fixed the issue or not remains to be seen. Users of the smartwatch will have to test out this update themselves to see if it really works.

Users can update to the newest version of the WatchOS by going to General then to the Software Update. The battery of the Apple Watch has to be at least 50 percent, placed by the charger and by the iPhone.
