Is Apple working on its own TV service?

After Apple tapped into the finance industry, the Cupertino tech giant wants to dig into yet another lucrative business venture: TV service. According to Re/Code, the company is currently in talks with TV programmers that will allow the company to release its own TV service. Instead of a full TV lineup, the iPhone maker's business model would be revolving around programming that will get secured through deals that will be struck with content providers. With this link, the service will be sold directly to consumers.

According to reports, Apple has shown off its service to individuals who are in charge of TV programming. However, Re/Code has once again stated that Apple's TV service will be launched once the parties who are in a direct relation with the service can come up with a proper pricing plan and release date in order to snare viewers away from other services.

Currently, the only thing remotely close to a TV service has been the company's Apple TV box. The Apple TV box makes it much more convenient for viewers to get Web TV on their traditional television set. While the TV box did possess "watch worthy" content, it was not able to garner the necessary success similar to what Apple has accumulated with its iOS mobile products. Furthermore, the company had also proposed a $30-a-month iTunes-based subscription but similar to the company's previous ventures, that, too, came tumbling down.

Apple's CEO Tim Cook has been very open minded about the firm branching out to other industries. The executive has stated that television viewing has been a core interest of the company. There are several companies that the tech firm will be in direct competition with, with streaming services such as NetFlix being one of the many. The company will also tap into the wearable industry with its Apple Watch and there are reports that Apple is working on releasing its own search engine.
